Cancellations before the card is mailed
You can cancel a scheduled card any time before it’s sent to our handwriting partner for production. From your dashboard, open the order and tap Cancel. You’ll get a full refund to your original payment method, typically within 5 business days.
Cards scheduled to mail today or already in production cannot be cancelled because the handwriting and stamping are already in motion.
Damaged or undelivered cards
If your card arrives damaged, never arrives, or has a writing error on our end, email Jenn@cardsfromyou.com within 30 days of the expected delivery date. Include your order number and a photo if the card was damaged. We’ll either re-send the card at no charge or refund you in full, your choice.
Wrong address you provided
We mail to the address you give us. If a card is undeliverable because the address was incorrect or incomplete, we can’t refund the postage and handwriting cost, but we’ll happily re-send to a corrected address at our cost - just email us.
Bulk orders
Bulk orders (6+ cards) can be cancelled in part before any card in the batch is sent to production. Once the batch begins handwriting, individual cards in the batch cannot be cancelled but the same damaged-or-undelivered guarantee above applies.
Digital greetings
Digital greetings (email and text deliveries) are non-refundable once delivered, because the recipient has already received them. If a digital greeting fails to deliver, contact us and we’ll refund or re-send.
Unlimited Digital subscription
You can cancel anytimefrom your dashboard (Manage billing). When you cancel, your subscription stays active through the end of the period you already paid for, and then it simply doesn’t renew. Your card is not charged again.
Mid-period refunds:we don’t pro-rate unused time. If you bought yearly and cancel after a month, your access continues for the remaining 11 months - we don’t issue a partial refund.
If you subscribed by mistake(wrong plan, didn’t mean to subscribe at all, accidental click) and you haven’t sent any cards under the subscription yet, email Jenn within 7 days and we’ll refund you in full.
Failed payments:if your card stops working we give it a few automatic retries through Stripe; if it still fails, your subscription pauses and you’ll be asked to update billing before your next digital send. Any cards you already sent stay sent - we never claw those back.
What the subscription covers: unlimited email and SMS digital cards, up to 100/day and 500/month per account (caps protect against abuse). Handwritten mailed cards are not included - those remain $7.24 each.
Gift card add-ons
If you add a gift card (Amazon, Visa, Starbucks, Target, DoorDash) to an order, the face value of that gift card is non-refundable once the redemption link has been issued to the recipient. The redemption link is generated automatically the moment your payment confirms, so the window to cancel a gift card is essentially zero.
If the gift card never gets minted(rare, but possible if our gift card partner’s API is temporarily unavailable), we automatically detect the failure and issue a full refund of the face value plus the $1.99 service fee, no action needed from you. You’ll see it on your card statement within 5 business days.
If you cancel the underlying card order before it ships but the gift card was already minted, we can refund the card portion but not the gift card portion (the gift card is already a redeemable instrument the recipient can use).
Brand and amount restrictionsare set by our gift card partner Tremendous and the brands themselves; you’ll see the per-brand minimums and maximums in the cart. Once a gift card link is shared with the recipient, redemption follows the individual brand’s terms (most expire in 12 months, but check the email or the redemption page for specifics).
How long refunds take
Approved refunds post back to your original payment method, typically within 5 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. We’ll email you when the refund is processed.
